A girl and her "Gerttie"

Tiarna and her Gerttie!!





Tiarna was given "Gerttie Doll" when she was around 1 year old and its has been her Doll you know the kind that you HAVE to take to bed! The one that is always there for you when you are sick, the one mum throws in the washing machine because it has had too much loving!!

We once lost it on a walk when the twins were around 2 years old and we thought that was it Tiarna would never sleep again!! But luckily Daddy went back and retraced our steps and found her! From that day we vowed that Gerttie wouldn't leave the house unless we were going on Holiday!

Well a few weeks ago Tiarna decided to give Gerttie to Arliah. I was shocked as she still goes to bed with her so I didn't think she would do it! But as much as I didn't think it was a good idea Tiarna insisted that she let Arliah have it!

UNTIL that night and she wanted her back!! Oh the tears! Not only from Arliah because she didn't want to give Gerttie back and from Tiarna knowing that she has made the wrong desion!

We explained as best we could to Arliah and she let Gerttie go back to Tiarna. Arliah wasn't to happy but after we set her up with at least 30 other stuffed toys she fell asleep!

We needed another Gerttie! So the search was on after some Internet looking I found a online shop in Australia that had one! I quickly pulled out the credit card and brought her! I was so pleased with myself that I had found another Gerttie!! Until I woke up the other morning with an email from the shop saying they had only just old there last one the day before!!

NOOOOOOOO!!!!

I emailed back explaining the situation and if she knew of anywhere else to get them. She told me that she did have one but it had a slight hole on the hat and another that was from old stock and faded but the same doll! She said she would send me both of them for the same price! Even sent it by express post!

HAPPY DANCE!!! YAY YAY!! I thought I am not going to tell the girls until I see what they look like! Well they arrived yesterday!! And the hole isn't really noticeable and the faded one well Gerttie 1 looks worse!!!




So now we have Gerttie 1, Gerttie 2 and Gerttie 3 (for backup) And two VERY happy girls!


Gerttie 1 no longer as her skirt as it was lost a long time ago! So we found some doll pants!
